Ready-made PDF templates you can fill from Excel remove the slowest part of document generation: building the template set yourself. ExForms ships a built-in library of PDF template sets inside the add-in — you copy a set, add your rows, and every row becomes a completed document. The mapping work is already done — minutes of setup, not hours.

ExForms includes a Ready-Made Templates library in the Set of Forms tree of its Excel add-in. Right-click a set and choose Copy to My Folder; your copy arrives with its field mappings included and its own matching workbook to download — one column per mapped field. Add one row per document, click Send Data, and every row becomes a completed PDF.

The Ready-Made Templates library is a read-only folder in the Set of Forms tree inside the ExForms add-in for Excel. It is organized into use-case folders so you can browse by the job you need done:

Each set in the library holds one or more document templates. You never edit the library itself — instead, you right-click a set and choose Copy to My Folder. That creates your own fully editable copy (and if you don’t have a folder yet, ExForms creates a “My Templates” folder for you automatically). Your copy arrives with its field mappings included and its own matching workbook to download — one column per mapped field.

The copy is entirely yours. You can remap fields, rename the set or its templates, replace the files with your own versions, and generally treat it like any set you built by hand. The library set stays untouched, so you can always copy a fresh one.

As of this writing, two sets are live — “W-9 Rev. March 2024” and “Work Order Request” — the first entries in a catalog that grows over time. If the form you need isn’t there yet, you can request it through support.

1. Browse the library. Open the Set of Forms tree in the ExForms task pane and expand the Ready-Made Templates folder. The use-case folders group sets by scenario, so pick the one that matches your job.
2. Copy to My Folder. Right-click the set and choose Copy to My Folder. Your editable copy appears under your own folder (“My Templates” is created for you if needed).
3. Download your copy’s workbook. Your copy comes with its own matching workbook — one column per mapped field. Download it and open it in Excel; the columns tell you exactly what data the template expects.
4. Add your rows. One row per person, vendor, order, or property — whatever the form is about. Paste from your existing spreadsheet or type directly.
5. Send Data. ExForms generates one filled document per Excel row, for every template in the set, in one action. Outputs are named using your naming pattern, sorted into subfolders, and delivered as a single zip.

Send Data doesn’t care whether your table has three rows or three hundred. Every row becomes its own completed document, and the whole batch arrives in one zip with your naming pattern applied and files sorted into subfolders. Filling ten work orders takes the same clicks as filling one. Generated documents count within your plan’s monthly form allowance — compare plans on the ExForms pricing page.

On paid plans, a set can hold multiple templates, and Send Data fills all of them per row in the same action — useful when several documents travel together, like an onboarding packet. Free and anonymous accounts are limited to one form per set.

If document generation is part of a system rather than a person clicking a button, the same generation is available through the ExForms REST API.
