What ExForms Does

ExForms is an Excel add-in that uses Excel data as the source for document generation and selected data-destination workflows. It helps users fill templates, build HTML outputs, map data, and send or sync structured Excel table data through configured connectors.

Document Templates

Fill PDF forms, Word documents, PowerPoint presentations, and HTML templates from Excel data. Template sets can be mapped and reused for repeat work.

HTML Templates

The HTML template editor supports visual editing, data tokens, parent and child mapping for repeating groups, rendered preview, ExForms AI, Ask Eve, and conditional rules.

Connectors

The Other Destinations workflow sends or syncs Excel table data through supported connectors. Public guides currently cover SQL Database (Generic), QuickBooks Online, and Toggl Track.

AI and Eve

AI features include ExForms AI in the HTML editor, PDF AI analysis and refinement, and Eve guidance in supported workflows. AI access depends on plan allowance and available AI tokens.

PDF Form Support

ExForms supports fillable PDF forms, including AcroForms and best-effort support for dynamic XFA forms. PDF mapping can use deterministic mapping, AI Map review/refine flows, or manual mapping for complex structures.

Some PDFs cannot be filled reliably because of form design, protection, unsupported XFA structures, embedded scripts, or provider-imposed restrictions. ExForms does not execute PDF JavaScript validations or embedded form scripts. Always test your own forms before relying on production output.

Account, Capacity, and Add-On Limits

Plans control limits such as users, document-generation capacity, connector slots, connector data transfer, AI token allowance, and API access. Current plan details are shown on the Pricing page and inside MyAccount.

Add-on packs can extend selected limits without changing the whole subscription. Users can start with a free account and buy the specific add-on pack they need instead of moving straight to a paid subscription, when that pack covers the required capacity or workflow. Add-on packs do not remove technical limitations of a document, connector, provider API, or account configuration.

Known Limitations

  • Output quality depends on the source template structure, mappings, and Excel data quality.
  • AI features are assistive. Users should review generated HTML, CSS, mappings, and suggestions before using them in production.
  • Conditional rules for HTML templates depend on valid selectors, mapped data, and expressions configured in the editor.
  • Connector workflows require valid credentials, provider permissions, supported endpoints, and provider/API availability.
  • Provider API changes, throttling, permission changes, or expired credentials can interrupt connector syncs.
  • Custom destinations or APIs may require custom implementation and validation before they can be used.
  • Excel desktop and Excel Online behavior can differ depending on Microsoft Office environment, browser, tenant policies, and add-in permissions.

We recommend testing your own templates, workbooks, mappings, connector credentials, and expected output before subscribing or processing production data. If you are unsure whether a form, document set, connector workflow, or custom destination fits ExForms, contact support before purchase.
